9-SS, 40/2, SD/1 (3-day option, rds. 1-5 G/50), Adam's Mark Hotel, City Line Ave (Rt 1 at I-76 City Ave exit), Philadelphia. Free analysis of your games by GM Pal Benko, former world title candidate; free lectures by other GMs 7/5 10 am, 7/6 10 am, 7/7 9 am. Unrateds must enter Open or Unrated sections.

Open: $14000-7000-4000-2000-1000-800-700-600-500-400, 11th-20th each $300, 2300-2449/unr $3000-1500, U2300 $3000-1500.  IM norms possible.  If tie for 1st, quick playoff 7/8 11:30 pm for 1% of $$ & title.  

Under 2200, Under 2000, Under 1800, Under 1600: each $10000-5000-2500-1200-800-600- 500-500-400-400, 11th-20th each $300.

Under 1400: $ 6000-3000-2000-1200-800-600-500-500-400-400, 11th-20th each $300.

Under 1200: $3000-1500-1000-700-500-400-400-300-300-300, 11th-20th each $200. Players who were rated 1400/over since 12/97 may not win over $500.

Unrated: $1000-600-500-400-300-200-200-100-100-100.  Provisionally rated playersare not unrated.

Foreign (USA residents under 3 years) must have established rating on/before 2/01 list or acceptable foreign rating to win over $3000 in U2200, $2500 U2000, $2000 U1800, $1500 U1600, $1000 U1400, $500 U1200. 

Entry fee, if mailed by 5/15: 7-day $247, 5-day $245, 3-day $243, 2-weekend $242.By 6/20: 7-day $257, 5-day $255, 3-day $253. At site: All $280; no checks. Credit cards (all schedules):  EF $220 phoned by 2/15, $250 by 5/15, $260 by 6/27, $280 at site.  Call 845-496-9658 (entries, questions) most weekdays or 406-896-2038 (entries only, no questions) 24 hrs daily. No phone entries after 6/27. GMs free; $200 EF deducted from prize or due on withdrawal.  Unrated Section entry fee: 7-day $67, 5-day $65, 3-day $63, 2-weekend $62 if  mailed by 6/20, all $70 phoned with credit card by 6/27, $80 at site. EF discounts:  $30 less to rated juniors under 18. $20 less to rated seniors over 65. Callers must request discounts, or will be charged full fee. Re-entry:  $120, any section but Open, any schedule, byes OK, no discounts.  

Schedules:

5-day: 7/4 7 pm, 7/5-6 12 & 7, 7/7 11 & 6, 7/8 10 & 5.

7-day: 7/2-7/6 7 pm, 7/7 11 &  6, 7/8 10 & 5. 

3-day: 7/6 12, 2:30, 4:30, 7, 9:30, 7/7 11 & 6; 7/8 10 & 5.

2-weekend: 6/30 12 & 6:30; 7/1 10 & 4:30; 7/6 7 pm, 7/7 11 & 6, 7/8 10 & 5. 

All schedules merge & compete for same prizes. -pt byes OK all, limit 4; add 50 cents to EF for rd 1 bye. Rds 6-9 byes: limit 2; must commit before rd 5.  Online entry with rd 1 bye need not add 50 cents.

All: Entries, re-entries close 1½ hours before game. Bring sets, boards, clocks if possible- none supplied. Hotel rates: $83-83-83-83 at Adam's Mark, 215-581-5000, & Holiday Inn next door, 215-477-0200. Reserve by 5/29 at Adam's Mark or rates may increase or rooms sell out.  Holiday Inn must be reservedby 6/14- rate is $93 if reserved 6/15-29, higher after 6/29.

PLEASE NOTE!! SOME CLOWN AT ADAM'S MARK RESERVATIONS HAS BEEN TELLING PLAYERS IN FEBRUARY AND MARCH(!!)THAT NO ROOMS ARE AVAILABLE FOR THE WORLD OPEN. This seems to happen mainly if you call on a weekend. THIS IS TOTALLY FALSE- THERE ARE STILL MANY ROOMS AVAILABLE, BUT YOU MUST ASK FOR THE CHESS RATE. If you don't ask for the chess rate, then no rooms are available, because the chess tournament has booked them all! Special airfares: American Airlines (800-433-1790, HSA1010001023), US Airways (877-874-7687, #28121737), Delta (800-241-6760, #170426A).  Special car rental rates:  Avis, 800-331-1600, AWD #D657633.  Foreign player ratings: 100 pts added to FIDE, 100 to FQE, 200 or more to most foreign, no pts added to CFC. Highest of multiple ratings used.  Players who fail to disclose foreign or FIDE ratings may be expelled.  US player ratings:  June list used; FIDE ratings not used.
