 9-SS , 40/2, SD/1 (3-day option, rds. 1-5 G/50), Adam's Mark Hotel, City Line Ave (Rt 1 at I-76 City Ave exit), Philadelphia.  World's biggest open tournament- $200,000 guaranteed prize fund!   All prizes unconditionally guaranteed; will not be reduced!  Free analysis of your games by Grandmaster Pal Benko, former world title candidate; free lectures by other GMs 7/1 10 am, 7/2 10 am, 7/3 9 am. 

In 7 sections.

Open:  $$G 15000-7000-4000-2000-1200-1000-800-600-500-400, 11th-20th each $300, 21st-30th each $200, 2350-2499/unr $2500-1300-700, 2250-2349 (no unr) $2500-1300-700, U2250 (no unr) $2500-1300-700.  IM norms possible.  If tie for 1st, quick playoff 7/4 11:30 pm for 1% of $$ & title.  

Under 2200 (no unr): $$G 10000-5000-3000-1500-1000-800-700-600-500-400, 11th-20th each $300, 21st-30th each $200.

Under 2000 (no unr):  $$G 10000-5000-3000-1500-1000-800-700-600-500-400, 11th-20th each $300, 21st-30th each $200. 

Under 1800 (no unr):  $$G 10000-5000-3000-1500-1000-800-700-600-500-400, 11th-20th each $300, 21st-30th each $200. 

Under 1600 (no unr):  $$G 10000-5000-3000-1500-1000-800-700-600-500-400, 11th-20th each $300, 21st-30th each $200.

Under 1400 (no unr):  $$G 7000-4000-2000-1200-1000-800-700-600-500-400, 11th-20th each $300, 21st-30th each $200, top U1200 $2500-1300-700, top U1000 $1500-700-400.  Under 1200 & Under 1000 prizes are class prizes, not sections.  U1200s play for U1200 & U1400 prizes, U1000s for U1000, U1200 &

U1400 prizes; winners of multiple prizes receive highest. Players who dropped from 1400+ established since 12/97 ineligible for U1200.

Unrated: $$G 2000-1000-500-400-300-300-200-200-200-200.  All will obtain ratings. Provisionally rated players are not unrated. 

Foreign (USA residents under 3 years) must have established rating on/before 12/99 list or acceptable foreign rating to win over $2500 in U2200, $2000 U2000, $1600 U1800, $1300 U1600, $1000 U1400, $700 U1200, $400 U1000.

Entry fee:

 If mailed by 4/15: 7-day $237, 5-day $235, 3-day $233. 
 If mailed by 6/15: 7-day $257, 5-day $255, 3-day $253. 
 At site:  All $280; no checks. 

Credit card entry fees (all schedules): 

 Phoned by 4/15: $240.
 Phoned by 6/22: $260.
 Paid at site: $280.

For credit card entries, call 914-496-9658 (entries or questions) most weekdays or 406-896-2038 (entries only, no questions) 24 hrs daily. No phone entries after 6/23. Free to GMs  who agree to complete tmt; $180 EF deducted from prize or due on withdrawal.

Open Section fee is $50 more to under 1800 if born before 7/1/79. 

Unrated Section entry fee:  7-day $87, 5-day $85, 3-day $83 if mailed by 6/15, all $90 if phoned with credit card by 6/23, $100 at site.  Entry fee discounts:  $50 less to juniors under 18 who are rated under 1500, over 2199, or play up (enter a section above their lowest possible).  $40 less to rated seniors over 65.  Callers must request discounts, or will be charged full fee.  No discounts off GM or Unrated Section fees.  Re-entry:  $120, any section but Open, any schedule, byes OK, no discounts.  All EF $8 less if mailed with $40 adult, $30 senior or $17 youth USCF dues- renew early and save! 

Schedules: 

 5-day:  6/30 7 pm; 7/1-2 12 noon & 7 pm; 7/3 11 am & 6 pm, 7/4 10 am & 5 pm. 

 7-day:   6/28-7/2 7 pm; 7/3 11 & 6; 7/4 10 & 5. 

 3-day:   7/2 12, 2:30, 4:30, 7, 9:30; 7/3 11 & 6; 7/4 10 & 5. 

All schedules merge & compete for same prizes.  -pt byes OK all, limit 4; add 50 cents to EF for rd 1 bye.  Rds 6-9 byes: limit 2; must commit before rd 5. All:  Entries, re-entries close 1 hours before game.  Bring sets, boards, clocks if possible- none supplied.

Hotel rates:  $79-79-79-79 at Adam's Mark, 215-581-5000, & Holiday Inn next door, 215-477-0200. Reserve by 5/26 or rates may increase.  Special airfares: World Travel Partners, 800-843-1110. Special car rental rates:  Avis, 800-331-1600, use AWD #D657633.  Foreign player ratings:  100 pts added to FIDE, 100 to FQE, 200 or more to most foreign, no points added to CFC.  Highest of multiple ratings used.  Players who fail to disclose foreign or FIDE ratings may be expelled.  US player ratings:  June list used; FIDE ratings not used.
